officially decided all trevor haters r just transphobic (half joke but honestly the standard they hold him to is wildly unfair to the standard of everyone else, he made one mistake if that and every other of ur faves made way more (which btw monica was the ONLY person who had not been a dick about his identity at that point- no shit he ended up defending her, he doesnt even know her aside from that, NOT his fault), no idea if thats bc hes a trans dude or something else but jesus guys💀)
My (head) canon backstory for Trevor from shameless , that i got from some clues the show gave us about trevor here and there but never developed:
- I think he knew he was trans his whole life.
- His parents were kind but not good parents. They would never apologize for anything. They completely denied him being trans and forced him to do ballet.
- his mother was so excited for his prom and prepared his prom dress and everything.
-which led him to try to kill himself before prom.
-he ran away/was kicked out at 18.
-he made friends with other queer people at the youth center and he started transitioning. Probably got hormones illegally bc he couldn’t afford other ways. Once he had enough money from working shitty jobs, he worked (volunteered?) at the youth center himself. He was friends with everyone there anyway.
-he wants bottom surgery but he can’t afford it. His old ID is a big stress for him and regularly faces discrimination bc of it.
-he still just wish his parents would apologize and accept him. In the meantime he look for a parental role in other parents, like parents of his friends or partners (like monica)
-his purpose in life is to be able to help to most queer teens so they don’t have to go through what he went through. He will put the kids’s wellbeing first, even if sometimes that means going against the people he loves.
